Tariff Rate Change History

Every rate verification, every policy change, every threshold adjustment — timestamped and sourced

Database last rebuilt: June 14, 2026 — 33 trade corridors tracked

Why Track Rate Changes?

Customs duties are not static. Free trade agreements phase in over years. Section 301 tariffs are reviewed and revised. Anti-dumping orders are renewed or sunset. De minimis thresholds are debated in legislatures. If your last duty estimate was from last year — or last month — it might already be wrong.

This page records every change we've verified across all 33 trade corridors. It's the audit trail behind the numbers on every calculator card.

How We Verify Rates

Each corridor is checked against primary official sources:

  • US: USITC HTS online database, Federal Register notices, USTR exclusion lists, CBP CSMS messages
  • UK: UK Global Tariff, HMRC notices, Trade Tariff service
  • EU: TARIC database, Official Journal of the European Union, national customs authority websites
  • Canada: Canada Customs Tariff, CBSA D-Memoranda
  • Australia: Australian Customs Tariff, ABF notices
  • Japan: Japan Customs Tariff Schedule, RCEP implementation schedules
  • Mexico: TIGIE (Tarifa de la Ley de los Impuestos Generales de Importación y Exportación), SAT publications
  • Global: WTO Tariff Profiles, UNCTAD TRAINS, ITC Market Access Map

Verification Cadence

  • High-risk corridors (China→US, China→Mexico, EU→UK): verified monthly or immediately upon policy change
  • Medium-risk corridors (FTA lanes, stable MFN routes): verified quarterly
  • Low-risk corridors (longstanding zero-rate FTA lanes): verified semi-annually
  • All corridors: re-verified within 48 hours of a major policy announcement

You'll know exactly how fresh the data is. Every calculator card on the homepage shows a verification dot — green (≤30 days), yellow (31–90 days), or red (>90 days) — plus the exact verification date and source.

What "Verified" Does Not Mean

Verified means we've confirmed the rate against the official tariff schedule as of the stated date. It does not mean:

  • The rate will apply to your specific product — HS classification determines that
  • The rate is a binding customs ruling — only your importing country's customs authority can issue those
  • There are no additional fees — brokerage, merchandise processing fees, harbor maintenance fees, and other charges may apply

Always verify with your customs broker before filing entry paperwork. DutyCalc gives you estimates; your broker gives you final numbers.
